Shave Your Lid for a Kid

KIDS FUND

The CJAY 92 Kids Fund is unlike most other charities.  Every Friday during the year, you can tune into CJAY 92 and listen to the very real story of regular local families who are dealing with unexpected tragedies and exactly how we are able to help them through the Gerry Forbes Secret Wish.  During the holidays, as needs increase, the Kids Fund steps up and does one or two Secret Wishes every day on the air, and over 50 Secret Wishes off the air.  Each family, depending on their circumstances, generally receives various gift cards worth approximately $800, toys for their children and $1,000 in cash.  The purpose of telling these stories on the radio is not to exploit or embarrass the families - but to give people the opportunity to understand the plight of our neighbors and know exactly where their donations are going.  Every penny that is raised is donated directly back to our Secret Wish families and kids.

Every year, 90,000 kids from Calgary, across the province, the prairies and the country – rely on help from our hospital.

Through the generosity of our donors we are able to provide funding for family centred child health programs, specialized life-saving equipment and advanced pediatric research and education at the Alberta Children's Hospital. Community support makes our great hospital – exceptional!

Hundreds of thousands of Canadians took a chilling plunge last summer when buckets of iced water were dumped over them to raise awareness for ALS.

The ensuing donations were a surprise, even to the executives of ALS Canada, which raised $17 million from 260,000 donors. The charity was also able to leverage an additional $10 million from Brain Canada, a non-profit organization that supports neuroscience research.

The funds raised at this event will make a real difference for children and families in our community, thanks to the generous support of people like you.
